Grapevine Sailing Club is proud to host the annual Girls Got Guts Regatta, a day dedicated to recognizing and supporting women at the helm. The regatta highlights competitive sailing while creating opportunities for more women to take the tiller and lead their crews.

This year’s format features the following fleets:

Fleet 1 – All-female crews with female skippers.

Fleet 2 – Co-ed crews, with the requirement that a woman helm the boat for the entirety of the regatta, including all starts.

One-Design Fleet – At the discretion of the Principal Race Officer, a one-design fleet may also be established if there are sufficient entries of a single class to support competitive racing. Boats assigned to this fleet will race under their class rules.

We encourage female sailors—whether you are an experienced racer or someone who has wanted to helm but hasn’t yet had the chance—to step forward and take part. Male skippers and crew play an important role by providing their experience, coaching, and boats to help make these opportunities possible.

After racing, everyone is invited to the clubhouse for an awards ceremony, dinner, and after-party, where we’ll celebrate the accomplishments of the day and the community that makes this regatta possible.

REGATTA SCHEDULE
Saturday, October 25, 2025

08:30 – Breakfast served in the clubhouse

09:00 – Registration closes

09:30 – Skippers’ meeting

10:30 – First warning signal (additional races to follow)

14:30 – No race will be started after this time

17:00 – Awards ceremony, dinner, and after-party at the clubhouse
