Hello GSC members,

We have had a few members interested in a sewing class. Charlotte Rider has agreed to host a class for us. We will first walk though how to make a sail bag, how to repair sails, and then get into making more complex projects. 

Class Dates:

Sun. Aug 28th 3:00-6:00pm

Tue. Aug 30th 6:00-9:00pm

Thur. Sept 22nd 6:00-9:00pm

Donations of old sails or gently used line is appreciated!!!

The first session we will start making a tote bag and then getting into making a more complex duffel bag. The cost of supplies to make a bag is covered by the registration fee. 

If you would like to add a liner to the inside of the bag or use your own material you are welcome to do that as well. 

You will need to have a sewing machine to make one of the bag. It is recommended to have a heavy-duty sewing machine like a Sailrite or a let least a Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine to sail through sail material. If you would like to use another material any sewing machine will do. 

If you did not make the deadline you can sign up to join the class and pick up the supplies yourself from Sailrite, Joann's or Hobby Lobby.
