The Grapevine Sailing Club, founded in August 1973, has consistently attracted both skilled and novice sailors. GSC is based at Scott's Landing Marina on Lake Grapevine, northwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The club office and meeting room are the gathering spot for the many racing and social events held throughout the year.
The membership of GSC includes families, singles crew or anyone who likes to sail or be around people who do. Boat ownership is not a requirement for GSC membership. If you're interested in joining, you can do so online.
GSC holds monthly meetings on the second Friday evening of each month at Scott's Landing Marina. These monthly meetings usually consist of a regular business portion followed by a guest speaker and/or a covered dish party. They are open to members, member's guests and visitors.
GSC organizes seasonal series of keelboat races year round. During the warmer months of the year regattas are also open to dinghies and multihulls. GSC's largest racing event of the year is the annual Gold Rush Regatta. The Gold Rush brings in boats and competitors from all over Texas and neighboring states for great racing and lots of fun. Special events vary year to year to keep things fresh. These offbeat events include Valentine's Couples Races, Long Distance Races and Relay Races.
Each Summer GSC offers a Sailing Seminar open to GSC members and the public. The seminar is composed of a mixture of classroom lectures and on the water instruction. The curriculum can be tailored to the goals of the individual student, whether they would like to learn the basics or pick up a few new racing tips.
